Carnival Casino Offers & Players Club: A Plain-English Guide

Carnival casino offers are easy to use once you know where to look, but the language can make them sound much more complicated than they are. This guide is the practical version: where to find your offers, what the common offer names mean, how points work and what to check before you book.

Start with Carnival’s Players Club page

Carnival has an official Players Club page that many cruisers never seem to find. It explains casino points, Drinks On Us, event sailings and other Players Club benefits.

Casino points

Carnival currently publishes these earning rates:

  • Slots: 1 Casino Point for every $2 coin-in.
  • Video poker: 1 Casino Point for every $5 coin-in.
  • Table games: points are based on the game played, average bet size and play duration.

Remember: coin-in is not money lost. Coin-in is the total amount wagered as money and winnings cycle through the machine.

Carnival Rewards and casino offers are different

Carnival Rewards is Carnival’s cruise loyalty program. Carnival Players Club is the casino side. Your regular cruise loyalty status and your casino offers are separate things.

Premier, Ultra, Elite and ECHO are not permanent Carnival Rewards tiers

Carnival’s own Players Club page calls Premier, Ultra and Elite event sailings. Casino cruisers also commonly talk about ECHO offers.

The easiest way I remember the difference is:

Royal: “I AM Prime.”
Carnival: “I HAVE an Elite offer.”

You can have more than one Carnival casino offer type available at the same time. I have personally had Premier, Ultra and Elite offers simultaneously. I just have not had ECHO.

Those offers can also change from one marketing round to another. Do not assume that receiving one type permanently makes you that “level.” Read the actual offer in your account because the cabin, FreePlay, drinks and other benefits can vary.

ECHO

ECHO is commonly described by Carnival casino players as Executive Casino Host On Call and as the highest-level/high-value invitation language they encounter. Carnival does not currently publish ECHO as part of a simple permanent casino tier chart, so rely on the actual offer attached to your account for the benefits included.

DOU and DOUE

DOU means Drinks On Us. Carnival’s Players Club says qualifying players can earn Drinks On Us while playing in the casino.

DOUE is shorthand cruisers commonly use for Drinks On Us Everywhere, a broader casino-offer drink benefit that may be included with certain targeted offers. Always read your actual offer because who is covered and where the benefit applies can vary.

How I search Carnival casino offers

This is one place where I find Carnival much easier than Royal Caribbean. I can start with the cruise I actually want and then see which of my available casino offers can be applied to that sailing.

That matters when you have several offers in your account. I would rather choose the ship, departure port and dates I want first, then compare the offers available for that cruise, instead of opening offer after offer just to discover which sailings qualify.

Read the actual offer, not just the name

Two offers with familiar casino names do not necessarily contain identical benefits. Check the actual terms for:

  • Cabin category and cruise fare
  • Number of guests covered
  • FreePlay
  • DOU or DOUE and who receives it
  • Deposit requirements
  • Eligible ships and sail dates
  • Booking and sailing deadlines
  • Taxes, fees and port expenses

Carnival’s official Players Club page specifically notes that discounted or free rooms exclude taxes, fees, port expenses and deposit.

Event sailings

Carnival’s Players Club currently highlights several casino-focused sailing types, including Premier, Ultra, Elite, Treasure Chest Voyages, Limited Edition, SEA Cruises and tournaments. Invitations depend on casino play and the offers made available to your account.
