Need a scooter for your cruise? Do not just rent the biggest one and hope. Cruise lines are enforcing the storage rules now: your scooter has to fit in your stateroom, it cannot live in the hallway, and they size them at check-in. If it does not fit through your cabin door, it does not sail.
The rule that decides it: 21 inches or less fits a standard cabin. Wider than that, you need an accessible cabin or a smaller rental.
That is the real advantage of booking your rental through me. You show up at the port and the right scooter is there, matched to your cabin before anybody paid for the wrong one. A scooter that is waiting but too wide is worse than no scooter at all, because you are stuck dealing with it on sail day.
I set up scooter rentals for my clients as part of planning their cruise. Start Planning and tell me about your mobility needs, and I will get yours handled.
It is not only scooters, either. I can also arrange manual wheelchairs, powerchairs, rollators and knee walkers, plus oxygen concentrators when you have a valid medical prescription. Your equipment can be delivered to your cabin, to the port, or to your hotel, so it is waiting where you need it.
Want me to schedule the right scooter for your cabin? Email me at cristi@wavesofuntravel.com and I will line it up.
A tip if you travel on dialysis
Traveling on dialysis? That takes planning, not hope. Peritoneal dialysis supplies have to be arranged and delivered to the ship before sailing, and the cruise line needs the paperwork ahead of time. Hemodialysis treatment onboard exists on select sailings with a full specialist team, a nephrologist and dialysis nurses, but only on certain ships and dates. Either way it is a tell-me-early conversation, because the coordination is the whole job.
