Your Ship-Hop Atlas: How to Open It (and What to Do If It Won't)

You bought the Atlas. Good call. Now let's get it open.

There are two ways to read it. The first way is the easy way, and it is the one I want you to try first.

Way 1: Read It Online (The Easy Way)

No downloading. No unzipping. Nothing to find later.

  1. Go to the page you landed on right after you paid, or open the email receipt from your purchase.
  2. Tap the button that says Read Your Atlas.
  3. The Atlas opens right there on your screen. Tap any trip to look at it.
  4. Want to come back to it later? Save the page to your bookmarks, the same way you save any website you like.

That is it. You are in.

Way 2: Download Your Own Copy

This gives you a copy that lives on your phone or computer, yours to keep. It takes about a minute. Go slow, one step at a time.

Step 1. Tap the download link on the thank-you page or in your email. Then wait a few seconds. The file is on its way, even if your screen looks quiet.

Step 1. Tap the download link and the file downloads to your phone.

Step 2. Now go find it. On an iPhone, open the app called Files. On an Android phone, open the app called My Files. On a computer, open your Downloads folder. The Atlas is sitting in there.

Step 2. Find the file in your Downloads folder.

Step 3. Tap the file named ship-hop-atlas. Your phone or computer will unzip it all by itself and turn it into a folder. You do not have to do anything fancy. Just tap it and give it a second.

Step 3. Tap the file and it unzips itself into a folder.

Step 4. Open that folder. Inside it is another folder named site. Open it, then tap the page named index. That page is the front door to the whole Atlas. Everything else opens from there.

Step 4. Open the first page of the folder and start reading.

You are in. Pick a trip and start dreaming.

Have Muse.ai Help Me

Rather have somebody walk you through it, one step at a time, on YOUR phone or computer? An assistant named Muse will do it for free.

  1. Copy the whole block of text below.
  2. Go to muse.ai and paste it in.
  3. Answer its questions and do one step at a time.

You are my patient tech helper. Talk to me like I am five: tiny steps, one at a time, plain words, and ask me to tell you when each step works before giving me the next one.

I bought a cruise guide called the Ship-Hop Atlas. It came as a download link and it is a ZIP file, which means a folder of pages squeezed into one file. I cannot open it or find it.

First ask me what I am using: iPhone, Android phone, Windows computer, or Mac. Then walk me to it on that device: find the downloaded file, open or unzip it, and open the first page so I can start reading. If a word is technical, explain it in the same sentence.

If we try everything and it still will not open, tell me to email Cristi at cristi@wavesoffuntravel.com and tell her which step I got stuck on. Do not ask me for any passwords or payment information, I will never need them for this.

If Something Goes Wrong

"I tapped the link and nothing happened."

Wait a full ten seconds. Downloads can be shy. Then go look in your Downloads folder or your Files app. Most of the time it arrived quietly and it is already there. If it is not there, tap the link one more time and watch the top of your screen for a little download arrow.

"It downloaded, but I can't find it."

This is the most common one, so do not feel bad. iPhone: open Files, tap Browse, tap Downloads. Android: open My Files, tap Downloads. Computer: open your file finder and click Downloads on the left side. It will be the newest thing in there.

"It says I need an app to open this."

You do not need to buy anything. Do not pay for an app. The Files app that came with your phone can open it. Go open it from inside Files (iPhone) or My Files (Android) instead of tapping it wherever you found it, and it will behave.

"I opened it and it looks like a bunch of files."

Good news: that means it worked. You are standing inside the folder. Look for the folder named site, open it, and tap the page named index. The whole Atlas opens up from that one page, like a book opening from its cover.

"The link stopped working."

Links get lost, and old ones can quit. Email me and I will send you a fresh one. You do not have to buy it again. Your purchase is on record.

"I bought it and never got an email or a page."

Check your spam or junk folder first, and check Promotions if you use Gmail. Receipts love to hide there. Still nothing? Email me with the name and email you used at checkout, and I will find your purchase and get you your link.

"Can I read it on my phone AND my computer?"

Yes. Your copy is your copy. Read it on your phone on the porch and on your computer at the kitchen table. No extra charge, no permission needed.

Still Stuck? Ask Me.

Email me at cristi@wavesoffuntravel.com or call or text me at 972-503-9910.

One favor: tell me which step number you stopped on. Say "Cristi, I got stuck on Step 3" and I will know right where to pick you up. Nobody stays stuck. We will get your Atlas open.
