Cruise documents & destination alerts
A short preparation checklist with official passport, cruise-line, and STEP links.
Check before you book
- Confirm the document rules for your citizenship, itinerary, and cruise line.
- Check names and document validity against the booking.
- Consider what you would need if you had to fly home from another country.
- Keep copies and emergency contacts separately from your originals.
For U.S. travelers, the State Department’s cruise guidance explains passport considerations and emergency travel. Do not rely on a broad “no passport needed” graphic for a particular sailing.
