Y’all. I just learned something that blew my mind — and honestly, I feel a little betrayed no one told me sooner. 😂
Apparently, you can call and text from the ship without ANY international plan or Cruise Pass.
No roaming. No crazy charges.
Just connect to the ship’s FREE Wi-Fi and boom — your regular phone number works.
🧠 The unknown trick is this:
TURN ON WI-FI CALLING.
That’s the magic button I didn’t know existed.
Here’s how it works:
📲 Cruise Wi-Fi Calling Hack:
- Turn ON Airplane Mode (Very important to avoid Carrier charges)
- Manually turn ON Wi-Fi
- Go to: (the piece I didnt know)
- iPhone → Settings → Cellular → Wi-Fi Calling → ON
- Android → Settings → (location varies — search “Wi-Fi Calling”)
- Connect to the ship’s Wi-Fi — even the free plan
💬 From there, you should be able to:
- Make calls and send texts just like on land
- Use iMessage, FaceTime Audio, and Messenger
- Stay in touch without a paid cruise plan
⚠️ Real Talk:
I haven’t tested this yet, so don’t come for me if it fails on a sea day 😆
But people swear by it — especially iPhone users.
👀 And if you’re like me…
This might not be your move because I’m a full-blown data addict.
I need that full internet package so I can scroll, post, work, and yes — check casino comps. 😂
BUT…
If you’re someone who just wants to unplug but stay reachable in an emergency — or check on your cat once a day — this is solid gold.
👉 If you’ve tried this trick — drop the truth below!
Did it actually work? Were calls clear? Did it save you money?
I’m all ears because this just changed the game for me. 🛳️📶
